The US Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was recently released at 314.175, marking a 3.0% increase compared to June 2023's figure of 305.109. This is a decrease from May's inflation rate of 3.3%, below the expectation of the market but it still remains well above the Federal Reserve's target of 2%. This decrease is mainly coming from gasoline and energy indices, offset by an increase in shelter.
The CPI for July will be released on August 14th.
